Football and Beauty

The weekend before last I attended Beauty Basics hosted by Makeup by Tierra. The class was well worth it and Tierra is a beautiful soul. She shared tips and tricks to successful makeup application. We were given deets on quality brand products as well as drugstore and beauty supply finds. There was also a class on sensational skin. Tierra shared what we put in and on our bodies are very important. Too many women want to hide behind a mask or fail to neglect their skin. I do not cleanse my face with anything I wouldn't put in my mouth. I no longer wear foundation on a daily basis to let my skin breathe. A lot of questions or things I knew were not right but continued to do, were confirmed in beauty basics. Tierra has a makeup line called Actual cosmetics. Of course, I love to support a business savvy woman who stands behind her product(s) and what she does.

It was also Superbowl Sunday so of course I needed a snack for the Beyonce concert lol.
Fever...yummy

It's obvious I am a foodie; back to beauty basics!

I purchased the eyeshadow palette which is very pigmented (deep toned ladies that is a must) and two lipsticks. MAC Ruby Woo is a favorite of mine but no holy grail; I have Behold the Lady which will be in a later post. I want to see how it compares to Ruby Woo.

I created a natural look on Kena using blue from the palette. I opted for the CG ebony bronzer as the transition color. Cover Girl bronzers are a must have in your kit.

 Until next time,

Keyda Lyn

Strawberry Melon

What a great day in history it is today. The remembrance and honoring of Dr. Martin Luther King and the swearing in of our 45th president Barack Obama. What are you drinking on while watching this evenings inaugural coverage? I decided to put use to the melon and strawberries that were in the fridge.

The strawberries complimented the sweet melon.

Yummy...I wish there were more!

Green Lemonade

It's a new year and with that comes the infamous weight loss resolutions. I am focusing on eating less of what's not good for me. I am a foodie so I enjoy great food and the key to that is consuming acidifying foods in moderation. I brought my Breville juicer last year and I enjoy using it. My little one loves to see the juice come out and is patiently waiting with his cup.

3 braeburn apples; 2 celery stalks; 1 lemon; 1/2 cucumber; fresh peeled ginger to taste; 3 kale leaves; 2 cups of spinach

The ingredients are shown and listed in the caption above. I sliced the apple to remove the seeds, as they contain cyanide. The skin of the lemon and cucumber are peeled. I use about an inch peeled of the ginger root. The leafy vegetables are placed in the chute before the other ingredients to produce a better yield; I have a centrifugal juicer which is best for juicing harder fruits and vegetables.

This juice is oh so refreshing!

I used a pint sized mason jar, stirred the juice and removed the foam. Make sure to consume the juice immediately or soon as possible as that is ideal. The longer the juice sits, the more it oxidizes hence vitamins and nutrients are lost. This is definitely a favorite of mine. I would love for you to share your favorite juice concoctions.
